Morgan Spurlock is an award-winning and Academy Award-nominated writer, director and producer and CEO & founder of full-service New York-based production studio Warrior Poets. His first film, SUPER SIZE ME, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2004, winning Best Directing honors. The film went on to win the inaugural Writers Guild of America Best Documentary Screenplay award as well as garner an Academy Award nomination for Best Feature Documentary.

Since then he has directed, produced and distributed multiple film, television and digital projects, including the critically acclaimed CNN television series “Morgan Spurlock Inside Man”, Showtime’s “7 Deadly Sins”, the FX series “30 Days” and the films WHERE IN THE WORLD IS OSAMA BIN LADEN?, CONFESSIONS OF A SUPERHERO, CZECH DREAM, CHALK, THE FUTURE OF FOOD, WHAT WOULD JESUS BUY?, the WGA and Emmy nominated THE SIMPSONS 20TH ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL: IN 3-D! ON ICE!, FREAKONOMICS, POM WONDERFUL PRESENTS: THE GREATEST MOVIE EVER SOLD, COMIC-CON: EPISODE IV – A FAN’S HOPE, MANSOME, and ONE DIRECTION: THIS IS US. 

Spurlock recently directed and produced the documentary RATS, inspired by Robert Sullivan’s New York Times bestselling book, and served as Executive Producer of THE PISTOL SHRIMPS, VLOGUMENTARY, and the Oscar shortlisted feature documentary THE EAGLE HUNTRESS. He is currently co-writing, directing and producing the untitled film about Hollywood Superagent Sue Mengers based on Brian Kellow’s bestselling biography Can I Go Now: The Life of Sue Mengers, Hollywood’s Superagent. In December, Spurlock’s company Warrior Poets announced a partnership with Indiegogo to help produce crowdfunded films, starting with the feature length doc WE BELIEVE IN DINOSAURS.

In addition to his film and television work, Spurlock has been on the forefront of digital content creation as Warrior Poets led Hulu’s push into original programming with their first series, “A Day in the Life”, and helped ignite Yahoo’s original content strategy producing three separate series over the last few years, including “Failure Club”, MANSOME andLosing it with John Stamos”. More recent digital projects include “Connected”, the first long-form series for AOL, and SMARTISH, an upcoming premium branded content channel for Maker.tv (Maker Studios).

Spurlock is also a co-founder of the short-film content marketing studio Cinelan where he recently produced the groundbreaking series “WE THE ECONOMY: 20 Short Films You Can’t Afford to Miss.”
